The certified staff evaluation model for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District is based on the book Enhancing Professional Practice: A Framework for Teaching , by Charlotte Danielson. The framework groups professional responsibilities into four major areas or “domains,” and further divided into 22 components. Based on theoretical research, the components isolate specific elements that educators should utilize to promote student learning.

The District has adopted the following schedule for teacher evaluation. Domains, identified numerically, are implemented in a three year rotation:

The links below provide templates to utilize in the goal setting and evaluation process. Each building administrator will also furnish teachers with a copy of the evaluation rubric containing descriptions of each component within the four domains. Based on a “Level of Performance” continuum, the rubric identifies the characteristics of best practice. Teachers and administrators work in a collaborative effort to identify areas of strength and gauge potential areas for improvement or refinement.
