The certified staff evaluation model for the Pocatello/Chubbuck
School District is based on the book Enhancing Professional Practice: A Framework
for Teaching , by Charlotte Danielson. The framework groups professional
responsibilities into four major areas or “domains,” and further divided into 22
components. Based on theoretical research, the components isolate specific elements
that educators should utilize to promote student learning.
The District has adopted the following schedule for teacher evaluation. Domains,
identified numerically, are implemented in a three year rotation:
