GroupWise Archive:
To specify the default directory
for your files:
1 Click Tools Options.
2 Double-click Environment click the File Location tab.
3 Specify a path in the appropriate text box.
You can click the yellow folder button to choose from a list of directories.
We suggest archiving to a directory on your H drive.
4 Click OK.
To archive an item in your Mailbox:
1 If you have not previously done so, specify the archive path in File
Location
in the Environment dialog box.
2 Select the items in your Mailbox you want to archive.
3 Click Actions Archive (or alternatively right click them, then left
click archive).
To see archived items:
1 In the Main Window, click File Open Archive. You will need to unclick
this to get out of the archive.
To archive items automatically:
1 Click Tools Options.
2 Double-click Environment click the Cleanup tab.
3 Select Auto-Archive After for the item type you want.
4 Specify the number of days after the item is delivered or completed
that you want it to be archived.
5 Click OK.
GroupWise Change Password:
- Open GroupWise
- Click Tools>Options
- (Brings up options window) Double Click Security
- (Brings up security options window on the password tab) Type in old password click
Ok
- Now you should be able to type in your new password twice click Ok and close the
windows that were opened.
- Now your GroupWise Password has changed.
GroupWise Cleanup:
If you have emails with attachments (pictures, documents, movies, etc...) i
n them and you want to keep the attachments, follow these steps:
1 - Point at the attachment
2 - Right-click and choose SAVE AS
3 - Navigate to your My Documents or a sub-folder of your choice and
save them there.
4 - DELETE THE EMAIL. This will free up server space.
Note: You can also ARCHIVE
your emails as long as you save them to a spot on your local drive C.
If you don't need the attachments at all, please delete the email.
You should also delete older emails that are no longer needed.
Please go through all your email folders and remove emails with large attachments
and older emails.
Here are some tips.
Email Cleanup:
1 - Remember that you can select many emails at once by using one of
these two methods:
a) Select files at random by holding the CTRL
key while you click on each one.
b) Select all files between a starting and ending point
by clicking on the first one,
then holding the SHIFT
key while you click on the last one.
All files between them become selected.
2 - Go into the regular Mailbox folder, the Sent Items
folder, and the Trash and select the files you
want deleted and then press the DELETE key on your keyboard.
Note: You should clean out the entire Trash folder by clicking
the EDIT pulldown
and choosing Empty Trash.
GroupWise Removal:
- Login as crepair.
- Lanuch NAL.
- Click on the GroupWise Uninstall in NAL (It runs quckly).
- Reboot.
GroupWise Install Windows Messaging (WMS):
- Start the install.

Browse to the wms.exe by opening my computer U:\APPS\DISTRICT\gw65\win32\wms\nt\us
- Install using the defaults
Change Novell Password:
- Hit Ctrl+Alt+delete on the keyboard at the same time
- (Brings up Novell Security window) Click Change Password
- Type in old password then your new password twice click Ok.
- Now your Novell Password has changed.
Install ClearType Applet:
ClearType is designed for clearing up font appearance on Windows XP machines specifically
for LCD monitors (flat panels) but can also benefit CRT monitors (square monitors).
Download the ClearType
tuner here and install. Using the tuner Open the control panel start>settings>control
panel then double click ClearType Tuning.
Start the Wizard. Follow the steps.
Add IP Printer Windows XP:
- Start – settings – printers
- Launch the add printer wizard
- Next – select local printer attached to this computer
– uncheck the box automatically detect and install my plug and play printer
- Next – Create a New port – Select Standard TCP/IP Port
from the pull Down Menu – Next –Next – enter the IP Address of the printer you would
like to add in the field next to Printer name or IP address - this step will auto
fill the port name which is correct – Next – Finish
- Then select the appropriate printer driver by clicking
have disk then browsing to example u:\apps\printers\HP4300\win2000_xp - open inf
file - OK - Next - select the name and whether you want your printer as default
- next - next - finish. That's it !
Window Login Fix:
- Prior to running this you must change the Administrator password to the crepair
password (this helps standardize our machines and allows a back door for our department
when repairing machines).
- Then run the XP Win Logon Fix
- Reboot - the machine should login into windows automatically as Administrator
Ad-aware Spyware Removal Tool:
Download ad-aware from
download.com then install adware using the default settings.
Check for updates
- Click on check for updates now
- Click on configure
- Check the button Use HTTP Proxy and in the address line enter the IP address 10.200.9.10
port 8080
- Click on connect
