WHAT Is The Teen Parent Center?
A special program to help teen parents:
Complete a high school education
Develop employability skills
Deliver healthy babies
Become good parents
WHO Can Be In This School?
Any pregnant or parenting student between the ages of 12 and 21 who is finding a
difficult staying in school.
WHY Is This School Special?
Because it provides:
Classes on prenatal care, labor and delivery preparation
Classes on child growth and development
Classes on effective parenting skills
child care designed to help your child develop
Support from other pregnant and parenting teens
Opportunities to earn credits toward high school graduation
Counseling support
Answers to health care questions
Individualized attention and support
Opportunities for career exploration and planning
Contact with community support services
Caring teachers who want to help
WHY Is This Program Offered?
Pregnancy and parenting are times of great change. You will be making
major decisions for you and your baby. This program will help you stay in
school and provide support during this important time for you and your child.
WILL I Earn Credit?
Yes! You can take classes required for high school graduation.
Teen Parent students are eligible to take up to two classes at the traditional high
school if the class is not offered at the Teen Parent Center. Transportation
for those students will be provided by school bus.
Teen Parent students are eligible to participate in after school athletic and extra-curricular
activities sponsored by their attendance area school.

See your local school counselor or visit the Teen Parent Center.
HOW Much Does It Cost Me?
Nothing! This program is offered free of charge through Idaho Public Schools.
