Classroom Placement Policy:

Syringa will be following District #25 policy to develop balanced classrooms for the 2011-2012 school year.

Syringa Elementary staff believes in maximizing learning for all students. Therefore, it is our goal to ensure equitable classroom placements for all students. Every attempt will be made to create and maintain balanced classrooms that are safe and productive learning environments for all students. As outlined in District #25 policy, the building administrator is responsible for classroom assignment using a process that will account for academic performance, gender, behavior, and the special needs of students. Teacher collaboration time (PLC’s) will be used to create balanced classes for this fall.

Parent input is a valuable part of this process. Parents may complete a written form to provide information for placement considerations for reasons of educational merit. Parents may pick up these forms from the school office between April 8 and April 15. Completed forms will be accepted in the office until 4:00 pm on April 15. Our goal is to have class lists completed before the end of the school year so students may meet and greet their future teacher and classmates.

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.
